I mean, the Umpire has to make his decision in split-second timing and the Manager saunters around, ho-humming, while the guy in the back room is reviewing in slow motion the play to decide whether it should be challenged or not. As of Sept. 7, there had been 1,130 challenges. Of these, 529 (or 47 percent) resulted in a call being overturned. Those results would be decreased dramatically if there were a time limit on the challenge.
